From the Classroom to the Community

As a teacher, I always found myself drawn to the students who needed a little extra love, guidance, and belief in their potential. I knew that my purpose went beyond the classroom walls.

 

In 2014, that vision became reality when I established Beyond the Bell — a program designed to provide opportunities, experiences, and support for youth who need it most. What began as a government-funded initiative grew into something much greater.

 

When funding began to fade, I refused to let the mission stop there. That’s when Friends of Beyond the Bell, a nonprofit organization, was born — to help sustain and expand our impact through community support and grant funding.

 

From December 2014-January 2015, I was boots on the ground establishing my program from the ground up. It was a month of hustle, grace and grit, marketing, and dedication. On January 19, 2015, I opened the doors to Beyond the Bell. From January 2015 to August 2025, I proudly served as Program Director, leading a decade of growth, innovation, and transformation for the youth we serve. What started as a dream became a movement that continues to inspire and empower.

 

Through a decade of impact, I have created lasting moments that have shaped over 200 children’s lives. Through dedication and passion, Beyond the Bell created a ripple effect that enhanced a once poverty stricken and high crime ridden community through the greatest gift of all, unconditional love.

 

Today, Beyond the Bell continues to reach hearts, open doors, and change futures — proving that when passion meets purpose, the possibilities are endless.
