The Gratitude Crayon

More than a book..

I'm a teacher turned author chasing my dreams for freedom.

Writing a children's book has been a lifelong dream!

The Gratitude Crayon is a family project. My sweet son, River, is one of my illustrators.  And my husband, Brad, is also an illustrator and drew all of the characters.

It all started with a purple crayon.

A crayon that showed me more meaning to life and how it is truly the little things that mean the most.

My story, “The Gratitude Crayon” Is a Story Worth Hearing and Sharing

I wanted to write a story that didn’t just entertain, but touched people... a story that reminded us all that even in a world full of noise, gratitude is still powerful, still healing, and still worth teaching.

I wrote this book because I believe thankfulness can change the way we see ourselves and the world around us. I wrote it for the child who needs a reminder of their own light... for the teacher searching for a way to spark kindness... for the parent who wants to plant seeds of positivity at home.

Sharing this book is me stepping into a dream I almost talked myself out of. It’s a piece of my heart, a piece of my purpose, and a reminder that our stories matter.

If The Gratitude Crayon touches even one person, inspires one child, or sparks one moment of kindness, then this dream was worth chasing.

The Gratitude Crayon isn’t just a children’s book—it’s a heart-opening reminder for all ages. Through a simple crayon and a powerful message, this story shows how choosing gratitude can brighten even the toughest days.

It encourages kids to look for the good, celebrate small moments, and spread kindness wherever they go.

Gratitude grows when we pass it on.
